Metanoia IV is a great new piece by Adam Rook that showcases lots of cool textural and timbral possibilities on the guitar. We recorded this video at Skillman Music in Brooklyn last September.
Elliot Cole: Journals, vol. 1 September 15, 2021
Elliot Cole is writing some of my all-time favorite music for guitar and cello. Gabe Cabezas and I went in to the studio to record his five Journals and we're excited to share this music with the world. The album is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, and anywhere else you listen to music.

I had a great time with this one. Maurizio Azzan wrote 15 minutes of music for the guitar called Geometrie nelle mani and it is incredibly challenging to pull off. Throughout the piece the two hands move in rhythmically unrelated ways which was an interesting challenge. I think this is the only piece where I broke nails on both hands -- there might even be some blood towards the end.
Recorded at the Brooklyn headquarters of the International Contemporary Ensemble. Check out Colleen Bernstein playing Yvette Janine Jackson's percussion music too!
Live with Brandon George December 23, 2020
Last week Brandon and I stopped by the Flute Center of New York to play our new arrangement of Sonata no. 1 by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre. The sonata was written in 1705 for violin, keyboard, and viol but it works perfectly for flute and guitar. It's a great piece -- catchy melodies, impressionistic harmony, and at least one moment of actual bitonality. Our arrangement will be published sometime in the coming year!
I recently recorded Saudade no. 3 by legendary guitarist and composer Roland Dyens for the Metropolis Ensemble's new series House Music. It doesn't get much better than this.
